SPRIDGET WISHBONE SUPPLIES LTD
A small company derived from G.K. Motors which was established in 1966 as a general car repair business, when A Series cars were immensely popular, ranging from A30/A35/A40 and Metropolitan.
Included in this range were the Austin Sprite & MG Midget the ever popular, and dream car, for every lad. They also had the well known fault, within the repair trade, with the suspension design which had an ongoing Wishbone wearing weakness.
Therefore, a reconditioning service could become a sought after, and much needed, service.
In 1975, the possibility became a reality and the start of our new venture, to offer a reconditioning service, became increasingly popular with Sprite & Midget owners and repair centre alike. Our company was the first with National coverage advertising, from where we've sold many thousands spanning an 18 year period, with a distinguished service.
1986 brought an increasing demand for Wishbone sales with the OE part becoming temporarily obsolete. Our intentions were then set on a development project for purpose made tooling. With determination, over a 14 month period, we were about to develop a prototype almost as OE and reflected high volume sales, from leading spares stockists and retail requirements.
The launch of Spridget Wishbone Supplies Ltd, in 1990, brought the market a name that sold itself through the Spridget world.
